As of last night, the marquee free agent of 2010, Ilya Kovalchuk, is now a New Jersey Devil. Atlanta Thrashers GM Don Waddell could not come to terms on a contract extension with the Russian superstar, and vowed to maximize his return on his investment. This weekend, New Jersey Devils bigwig Lou Lamoriello will be graced with one of the deepest honors a man of his profession can receive: induction to the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Builders category. Lou came on board for the Devils in 1987, and the organization has never been the same since. Lamoriello got his start in American college hockey.
