The Kings ended a five game road trip on Monday night in Sunrise, Florida with another huge win. The Kings took on the Florida Panthers at the Bank Atlantic Center. Just like the game before against the Tampa Bay Lighting, the Kings rallied from behind and made it into overtime where Jack Johnson scored the only goal in the shootout. Johnson was excited about the win and the road trip, “Obviously...
Jimmy Howard Comes Up Huge For Detroit

The Detroit Red Wings kicked, clawed, struggled and somehow found a way to put 2 goals into Roberto Luongo’s net. As it turned out, for the second night in a row, this was enough for a victory. Both without Chris Osgood.
Jimmy Howard, after a solid night against Columbus, was outstanding back home in Detroit against a rested and determined Vancouver team. The first and half of the third belonged...

The Maple Leafs were on a seven-game tear until the second period of what turned into a trouncing at the hands of the West conference’s answer to the Maple Leafs. Three unanswered goals meant back to the drawing board for Toronto with the sincerest hopes that Johnny Bower and the rest of the war veterans on hand didn’t take the confused effort personally. Losses to crumby teams happen to the...
WELCOME TO THE BIG SMOKE, KESSEL

Last night Leafs nation welcomed a new star into the fold, held their collective breath when it looked like that star was about to make a return trip to the IR and then had their hearts broken yet again by another extra time loss. It was an exhausting night to be a Leafs fan.
It was widely speculated that last night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning would be Phil Kessel’s first in blue-and-white....
POST GAME ANALYSIS: BRUINS 3 – SENATORS 2 (OT) SO

After beating the Ottawa Senators 3-2, in a “last dying gasp of breath” game on Saturday night, the Bruins are now off until Thursday.
Much has been said about how after Tim Thomas was pulled, the Bs scored two miraculous goals in the last 1:28 to tie the game in regulation. This is, of course, truly surprising, because their power play has been pretty much anemic so far this season. Thomas...

Coming into Anaheim following 3 straight losses, the St. Louis Blues came out firing Saturday night. They beat the Ducks 5-0 in Anaheim.
I thought consistency would be key, and it was. The forecheck was great. Puck movement was solid. Goaltender Ty Conklin was perfect, recording his first shutout of the year stopping all 26 of Anaheim’s shots. But most importantly, the special teams...
POST GAME ANALYSIS: LIGHTNING 7 – SENATORS 1

Holy Michalek ! The Ottawa scorer had nine shots on goal and three of them escaped Smith’s reach. How do you think the Tampa Bay Lightning played last night at the Scotiabank in Ontario? Place A 7-1 final score says it all.
The ‘Bolts must have experienced some serious jet-lag taking the long trip across the Canadian border. No one, and I mean no one, played to their full potential...
POST GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES 2 – COYOTES 3 (OT)

The St. Louis Blues and Phoenix Coyotes put on a great show tonight. The Coyotes win 3-2 in overtime on a goal by Ed Jovanowski.
Phoenix came out firing in the 1st outshooting the Blues 11-6. St. Louis looked to come out a little flat for the third consecutive game. Chris Mason and the play of the “Kid Line” kept them in it early.
The second period was much more upbeat and physical...
