INJURY BUG BITING AT BLUES
As the Blues came off the ice Saturday night licking their wounds after a 4-1 loss to Dallas, the Blues found themselves beaten and bruised. But, do not fear Blues fans, we will be alright soon enough. Star forward T.J. Oshie should only be out for another week to 10 days following an emergency appendectomy early last Saturday morning. B.J. Crombeen and Carlo Colaiacovo seem to show no ill effects...

PRE GAME ANALYSIS: STARS vs BLUES
The St. Louis Blues shoot for consecutive wins at home tonight as they host the Dallas Stars.  St. Louis won their first “true” home game last night over the Minnesota Wild. Dallas skates into the ‘Lou to wrap up a 3 game road trip. St. Louis should be riding high after good play throughout the entire game. They are going to have to score early and often.  The shots and chances...

PRE GAME ANALYSIS: WILD vs BLUES
The Blues return home to host the Minnesota Wild tonight. The Wild are coming off a 3-2 shootout win in Colorado. St. Louis is coming off a disappointing 3 game road trip including a 5-1 embarassment at the hands of Pittsburgh. The key to tonight’s game is going to be the first 10 minutes. Whoever comes out the gate the fastest should have the upper hand. Both teams have been sluggish at the...

PRE GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES vs PENGUINS
The St. Louis Blues skate into Pittsburgh tonight to face off against the high powered Penguins. The defending champs are playing like they have everything to lose.  They have started out with their second best start in franchise history going 7-1.  Evgeni Malkin is leading them with 10 points.  Sid the Kid isn’t far behind, still averaging a point a game.  Marc-Andre Fleury has taken his...

POST GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES 5 – DUCKS 0

POST GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES 5 - DUCKS 0
Coming into Anaheim following 3 straight losses, the St. Louis Blues came out firing Saturday night. They beat the Ducks 5-0 in Anaheim. I thought consistency would be key, and it was.  The forecheck was great.  Puck movement was solid.  Goaltender Ty Conklin was perfect, recording his first shutout of the year stopping all 26 of Anaheim’s shots.  But most importantly, the special teams...

PRE GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES vs DUCKS

PRE GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES vs DUCKS
The St. Louis Blues face off against the Anaheim Ducks tonight in a Western Conference battle. The Blues come in after a heartbreaking loss in overtime Thursday night in Phoenix. They have got to be more consistent. If they come out with another slow start, Anaheim has enough snipers to put a hurtin’ on them. The special teams have to be more consistent as well. Penalty killing has been good,...

POST GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES 2 – COYOTES 3 (OT)

POST GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES 2 - COYOTES 3 (OT)
The St. Louis Blues and Phoenix Coyotes put on a great show tonight.  The Coyotes win 3-2 in overtime on a goal by Ed Jovanowski. Phoenix came out firing in the 1st outshooting the Blues 11-6. St. Louis looked to come out a little flat for the third consecutive game.  Chris Mason and the play of the “Kid Line” kept them in it early. The second period was much more upbeat and physical...

PRE GAME ANALYSIS: BLUES vs COYOTES
The Blues face Phoenix Thursday night in the first of a three-game road trip. Andy Murray’s team is 2-2 following a 2-1 loss at home to Los Angeles in its last effort on Saturday night. They need to come out firing after a lackluster effort Saturday night. They have trailed after the first period in all four games. “We’re not coming out of the gate hard enough,” forward Alex...
